Quick Bolognese Sauce
Rich with beef and a touch of bacon, this creamy Italian classic sauce tastes like it slow-simmered for hours.
1 lb. lean ground beef
3 oz. bacon, chopped (3 to 4 strips)
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup sliced celery
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup College Inn® Fat Free & Lower Sodium Beef Broth, or red or white wine
1 can (28 oz.) Contadina® Crushed Tomatoes
3/4 cup whole milk
Cooked pasta
Brown beef, bacon, onion, celery and carrots in a large saucepan over medium-high heat, about 10 minutes.
Add broth; simmer until evaporated, scraping browned bits from bottom of pan.
Stir in tomatoes and milk. Simmer over medium-low heat until sauce is thickened, about 15 minutes. Serve over pasta.
