Ingredients

1 Tbsp. vegetable oil

1.5 lb. sirloin or strip steak, trimmed and thinly sliced (1/8-inch thick)

1 carton (24 oz.) College Inn® Hearty Beef Simple Starter® Sauce

1 cup uncooked long grain white rice

2 Tbsp. reduced-sodium soy sauce

1Tbsp. grated fresh ginger or 1 1/2 tsp. dry ginger

2 tsp. packed brown sugar

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

4 1/2 cups (about 10 oz.) small broccoli flowerets (1-inch pieces)

1 medium red bell pepper, cut in 1/2-inch wide strips

Toppings: Green onion, slivered almonds or roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, Sriracha, lime juice, cilantro

Directions

Stove Top

  1. Heat oil in large, deep skillet or Dutch oven on medium-high heat; add beef and cook until slightly browned.
  2. Stir in Simple Starter sauce, rice, soy sauce, ginger, sugar and garlic powder. Bring to a simmer; reduce heat to medium-low. Cover; simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Stir in broccoli and top with bell pepper. Cover; continue to simmer 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes. Serve in bowls with toppings, as desired.

 

Electric Pressure Cooker

  1. Set a 6-qt. electric pressure cooker to Sauté. Heat oil; add meat and cook 7 minutes with our stirring until meat starts to brown. Stir; sauté an additional 5 minutes. Press Cancel.
  2. Stir in soy sauce, ginger, brown sugar and garlic powder. Sprinkle rice evenly over meat. Pour Simple Starter sauce over rice. DO NOT STIR.
  3. Set to Pressure Cook 9 minutes on high. Quick release steam. Press Cancel. Stir in broccoli and top with bell pepper. Cover; let stand 10 minutes. Serve in bowls with toppings, as desired.
